Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) Program

Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) is a methodology that seeks to uncover and utilize the strengths within Haripur Municipality. Rather than focusing on “problems” to be solved by outsiders, it focuses on “assets” to be mobilized by residents.

The Five Key Asset Categories

  1. Human Assets: The skills, talents, and professional expertise of individuals living in the wards.
  2. Social Assets: The networks, community groups, and trust-based relationships (e.g.Youth clubs, all political leader , Mother’s Groups, Farmers’ Collectives).
  3. Physical Assets: Natural resources, existing infrastructure, schools, and vacant land.
  4. Economic Assets: Local businesses, household savings, and consumer spending power within the municipality.
  5. Institutional Assets: The Haripur Municipal Office, NGOs ,local clubs, social institution and local health posts.
